Department Description

Emdeon business services Configuration Management department is comprised of team members that provide operational and release management support across a diverse set of interrelated platforms.  Core functions include administration, daily operations, and release management for all clearinghouse related applications within the Application Services Delivery organization. This also includes working with Configuration Management models. Support of Source Control solutions, troubleshooting and Automation.



 

Brief Posting Description

Technically, a Unix and windows applications support staff with strong skill sets shell scripting, Perl programming and troubleshooting ability. Should also be well versed with Configuration Management skills with experience in Source Control Management and Version control concepts and software.

 

 

Detailed DescriptionMonitoring execution of applications and resolving issues as they occur. Work with development and engineering teams to optimize production process in order to provide consistent and reliable services. Create and maintain metrics on application processes.  Keep abreast of the industry as to technical and best practice developments and incorporate into our environment as indicated.  Ensure production environment processes and procedures comply with Sarbanes Oxley standards and CM process flows.



Job Requirements6+ years of Unix experience with proven experience creating shell scripts (ksh, bash, csh or similar)2+ years of specialized experience working in a troubleshooting role supporting production applications. 2+ years in handling Source Control and Release Management.Experience with various Unix commands (grep, awk, sed, find, etc.)Programming experience in Perl, Python or PhP with MySQL or Oracle integrationExperience with CGI, XHTML, CSS (preferably using Perl or PhP with MySQL or Oracle). Experience in batch scripting and Active Perl for Windows will be beneficial. Exposure to Configuration Management tools such as Rational ClearCase, CVS, SVN. Mainframe exposure and COBOL programming concepts are a plus. The position also requires the ability to function in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment.Knowledge of Information Technology operations, procedures, and workflow. Experience in Java is a plus.
