Configuration/Release manager

CONFIGURATION/RELEASE MANAGER

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

5 years experience in versioning, configuration and change management.  Must have experience with change management for software builds/development methodology.  Requires basic knowledge of N-Tier architecture, component and web based applications.  Also requires experience in developing strategies for software deployment and dependency release planning.

A Bachelors Degree in Inormation Technology or Computer Science is Preferred but not required.

Candidates must be US Citizens eligible to receive a DOD Secret Level Clearance.

 

THE PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

Will be responsible for managing the configuration and release management efforts throughout the project with a focus on process improvement and stability.  Will work with planning and delivery teams (Development, Service Delivery, Test and Program Management) to prepare and publish overall release schedules, including high level timeliness and milestones.  Will proactively monitor progress throughout all stages from scope, analysis through to testing and sign-off, implementation and post-live support.  Will agree and manage changes to release contents/scope throughout release lifecycle. Will ensure release communications (e.g. Release Notes) are made available according to the published timetable.  Will facilitate client awareness of release content in support of their  own testing activities.  Will oversee internal sign-off and management of company acceptance of release including confidence testing.  Will prepare and issue and manage development plans and communication cascades in support of live implementation.  Will provide post-life release documentation including statistics and root cause analysis.
