Contract Senior Software Engineer-Java Networking

Canon Development Americas, Inc. is a software research and development subsidiary of Canon Inc., a world leading imaging company.

We are seeking a senior engineer to work on developing lower-level Java networking components that will help with the development of integrated solutions on Canon's ImageRunner machines. 

The main responsibilities would include:

-Creating and developing reusable Java components
-Analyzing network protocols
-Developing test fixtures and unit tests
-Writing documentation and fixing bugs

We are looking for a person with the following skills/background:

-Proficient Java coder 
-Network communications protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, LDAP, CIFS/SMB etc.)
-Strong Windows OS, including Windows 2003 server, knowledge
-Solid understanding of authentication and security principles and technologies (Kerberos, digital signatures, encryption, S/MIME)
-Ability to write technical documentation (including design specifications)
-Ability to use network tracing tools such as WireShark


Other skills/knowledge that would be helpful:

-Embedded development experience with J2ME
-Understanding of Web Services technologies (SOAP, WSDL, XML Schema)
-Understanding of WS-Security and other WS-* extensions.
