Project Engineer: The position requires performing finite element non-linear, dynamic analysis and direct or modal transient response analysis for a variety of structures, and/or mechanical components.

Responsibilities - Project Engineer will work in the areas of Crashworthiness and Biomechanics. This Individual will be responsible for the following:

 

· Mesh from CAD component geometry and build complex FE models.

· Conduct linear and nonlinear static, normal modes, dynamic response, and crash analysis.

· Process all simulation data and present in a report format.

· Assist in writing final project reports.

· Assist in writing white papers and proposal.

 

The Project Engineer will be able to carry out complex assignments with a high degree of creativity. They will utilize engineers or scientists necessary to carry out specific projects, and may have formal supervisory responsibility depending on the engagement. The incumbent advises and makes recommendations to management on technical aspects of projects.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

· BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

o  Advanced degree desired (but not required)

· Background in Biomechanics preferred but not required

· Three (3) or more years experience of experience in numerical simulation software tools, specifically LS-DYNA

· Experience in Crash Worthiness a plus

· Vibration and modal analysis is a plus.

· Work successfully with project teams, both on the team and as a resource.

· Have an extensive understanding of product engineering concepts and applications.

· Self-starter with potential for technical leadership and coaching/teaching skills.

· Have ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, as well as to managers and engineers.

· Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills
