Creative Director
Overview The EA Creative Development team is responsible for generating world-class design that inspires, provokes, informs, and compels our consumers to engage and buy our products. The Identity Design Team within Creative Development manages, directs, and executes product and brand design programs for our EA SPORTS, EA Games, Sims, and EA Casual Entertainment Labels.The Creative Director is responsible for developing cohesive identity design assets for EA franchises and brands for use in a wide variety of consumer impressions (i.e., packaging, in-game, web, retail, video etc.). The Creative Director facilitates and provides creative direction for identity design from conception to execution for logo, key art, packaging, franchise tool kits, and brand style guides in alignment with business strategies. The Creative Director will identify, lead, and inspire highly talented external and internal creative teams while meeting timelines and budgets with Account Manager partners. Working effectively in multi-discipline and multi agency teams and being able to coordinate brainstorming and creative sessions is a critical skill. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also essential to effectively present creative rounds and recommendations to EA Publishing and Label management teams.Creative Director Process responsibilities - Partner with Account Managers to establish project parameters and client needs and maintain an understanding of schedule and cost developments, inasmuch as they affect strategy and delivery goals - Gain a complete understanding of product audience and business goals via meetings with Marketing and Studio partners - Write agency briefs based on Marketing input, title heritage, and business goals - Initiate and manage projects through Partner Agency and/or other creative partners - Work with internal (EA) and external (Agency) partners to establish a cohesive Tool Kit creative vision aligned with Studio and Product Marketing, with EA partner input when applicable - Create and/or direct agency to create and cull down presentation PDFs as needed - Brief Creative Directors on projects in progress, including agency rounds for recommendations and feedback rounds from Product Marketing and Studio partners - Pitch concepts to and provide supporting recommendations to Marketing and Studio partners Key Directorial Responsibilities - Direct creative execution of franchise design tool kits for cohesive visual brand identities - Maintain a top level view of franchise, label, and IP by setting priorities, managing partner selection, and overseeing best practices - Manage and evolve process and workflow innovation for Identity Design team - Establish and keep strong working relationships with internal partners and outside agencies/vendors - Select agency partners according to project compatibility and EA Marketing priorities - Maintain and protect agency relationships (e.g., volume of work, type of projects, general temperature) - Mentor Identity Art Directors in EA process, partner and vendor relationships, and best practices - Offer input, advice, and guidance to team in terms of strategy and recommended solutions during Creative Development meetingsSpecific Job Skills - Ability to process Marketing objectives into distilled strategies that communicate big ideas - Possess exceptional creative and design talents with stylistic breadth and strategic depth - Display awareness of evolving consumer trends, business landscape, and marketplace - Demonstrate advanced creative leadership skills - Strong organizational, conceptual, and presentation skills - Expert working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Key Note, and PowerPoint - Art direct finished photography, illustration, and motion graphic assets - Articulate design/positioning and make recommendations supported by strategic rationale - Create and evaluate concepts based on strategies, consumer issues, and market insights - Knowledge of methods and techniques to inspire and direct creative teams and other partners - Coordinate, plan, and participate in creative sessions, using techniques and methods to inspire, generate, and record a high level of creativity Capabilities - Strong creative and strategic thinker - A proven relationship builder and team player - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Self-starter with strong work ethic - Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills - 6+ years experience and expertise in one or many different creative disciplines including but not limited to graphic design, concept design, interactive design, advertising communication, marketing, new media, film, and TV. Knowledge of interactive entertainment and related industries is a must.
