  NAVTEQ is the leading provider of digital map data for Vehicle Navigation, Internet & Wireless applications and Business Solutions. Cutting edge applications such as these are part of a growing set of applications that enhance consumer's access to information while they are mobile. We have coined the term informed mobility' to represent this emerging need.  NAVTEQ data is used in virtually all of the leading navigation systems in both North America and Europe. Our customers rely on NAVTEQ digital map information for use in their applications based on its accuracy, detail and completeness.  We are currently looking for a Customer Marketing Manager – 8080 in Chicago, IL Position Summary:  Responsible for strategic and tactical marketing activities focused on NAVTEQ’s relationships, programs and business with automotive OEMs and navigation system suppliers.  Among other activities, this will include organizing and managing the promotion and requirement gathering for NAVTEQ products and services with North American Automotive customers and system suppliers.  These products and services include, but are not limited to: Traffic, Voice (voice is in Core Map description), and Third Party Data.  Responsible for developing and implementing creative marketing approaches to increase adoption, take rates, yield, products and services and new technology adoption that ensure we achieve our revenue objectives.   This position will work closely with the following groups:· Map Product Management· Dynamic content product management (ex. Traffic)· Sales organization in North America, Europe and Japan· Corporate Marketing & Strategy· Marketing Communications Responsibilities: · Manage deployment and requirements gathering of the product and services strategy· Work regularly (weekly) with Product Management to maintain knowledge of products and rollout plans and relationships· Liaise between Account Executives and Product Management team· Work with Corporate Marketing and Product Management to have a complete understanding of NAVTEQ’s product plans, road maps and pricing· Generate the relevant messages, selling points and product benefits specific to automotive customers and system suppliers· Create and maintain a Product Communication plan: what, when and how product information should be communicated to the automotive customers· Prepare presentation material and promotion tools on product and services· Train the sales organization on product and services functionality, coverage, features, performances and pricing· Identify customer needs and assist product management in translating those needs into product specifications· Participate with account manager to product meetings with customer to better understand their needs and priorities· Create and maintain a Product and Service Customer Requirement Plan as inputs to the product creation process for Product Management· Support development of robust processes and innovative pricing methods to support the growth of our product and service strategies.· Identify customer needs and assist product management in translating those needs into product specifications.· Vigilantly maintain NAVTEQ’s high Quality standards with customers and internally with other NAVTEQ groups.· Develop customer support strategy and actions for NAVTEQ products and services· Together with the Account Executive, define key objectives for each account. Create and maintain an action plan in line with the objectives.· With Account Executives, participate in actions such as customer visits, presentations and conferences to present and promote NAVTEQ product and services.· Develop thorough understanding and roadmap of OE’s launch plans and product requirements/plans from product definition, through product launch and promotion, to product obsolescence· Develop internal view of industry trends in pricing, technology, products, etc. · Proactively communicate actionable findings to NTC organization.· Team with NAVTEQ Europe and NAVTEQ Japan to understand how global trends may impact North America.  Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Technology or related field; MBA Preferred. Five years experience in marketing, preferably software or database-related· Ideal candidate would have an understanding of the automotive industry and marketing experience dealing with OEM customers’ requirements· Good technical understanding and product-oriented focus; Engineering/technical background is a plus· Understanding of NAVTEQ database specification, development, and release processes is a plus· Highly developed organizational and analytical abilities required, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Strong presentation skills required· Self-directed, but able to work as a team player· Creativity and sound judgment in problem solving.  · Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.  · Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision. · Ability to manage and coordinate input from multiple sources.  · Ability to function effectively in a geographically disperse organization.  · PC skills in MS Office capabilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) needed.  · Must be able and willing to travel frequently and on short notice.  An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V    JOB TITLE: Customer Marketing Manager (8080) - Growing Technology Company COMPANY: NAVTEQ LOCATION: Chicago, IL 60606 STATUS: Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY: Marketing/Product RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ to 7 Years CAREER LEVEL: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's Degree EMAIL: Apply by Email REFERENCE CODE: 8080
