This individual can be located at *either* our  Des Moines, Ia. or Cedar Rapids, Ia. office as part of our Regional IT Center Programming team. The most successful Programmer will have: Programming experience in RPG and CL on an iSeries platform. (Experience with Infinium, Kronos and/or Eclipsys applications is a nice plus!) Other 'Nice to haves': Knowledge of Showcase, Crystal or Cognos report tools. Solid knowledge of MS Office required. Support of financial applications and users, as this position has direct interaction with Financial, HR, Payroll and Logistics users.The successful Programmer will be comfortable Developing, modifying, testing, and installing application programs and software as defined by the project. He/She will also provide new product development and maintenance to existing applications or modification to outside vendor developed applications. He/She will work closely with the Manager of Customer Service Programming and, other IT management and staff, and external entities to provide efficient and effective systems to furnish healthcare providers with the information to deliver top quality health care, and indirect quality patient care.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Promotes enterprise wide standardization. Reviews module enhancement specifications incorporating standardization guidelines into tailoring specifications and assists in performing integration tests on delivered enhancements. Works collaboratively with other IT group members to ensure optimal application functionality. Provides night and weekend on-call coverage as scheduled. May assume additional on-call responsibilities as directed by Manager. Provides project status reports on a regular basis for assigned active projects. Provides input for system infrastructure hardware and software recommendations to maintain optimal system performance, maintainability, and security.



Qualifications

Must have RPG Programming experienceMinimum of two years experience or training in hardware and software design and development on supported platforms. Extensive knowledge and skill level in computer application methodology as it is used to automate health care business practices. Possess skills in system design and methodology. Demonstrate competence in system utilities, module trouble-shooting procedures and internal tracking and resolution procedures. Knowledge of health care industry systems preferred. Ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities, which arise, in a complex multiprocessing environment is crucial.



Education

Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. Equivalent education and work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific systems.
