DB PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER

Position Summary:


The Database Programmer develops and maintains internal and customer-facing database projects for publishing and web products.  Responsibilities include web-integration, developing internal tools for server/data administration and reporting, and coordinating with other departments during the development and deployment of future database related projects.

 

Minimum Requirements:

· Minimum 3 years professional software development experience writing client / server database applications in C++, Java, or other web technologies utilizing Oracle or MySQL

· Architectural expertise in designing both the application and database side of a software solution as a unit. This includes a strong understanding of the interdependencies between application server and database architectures

· Expertise in Linux or Windows environments

· Experience with a procedural SQL language (PL/SQL, Transact-SQL, PL/pgSQL, SQL PL)

· Excellent written and oral communications skills

 

Desirable Experience and Attributes:

 

· Experience building user interfaces

· Strong web based reports/presentation building skills using Excel, Perl, SVG, XML, XHTML, XSLT or other comparable languages and reporting packages

· Experience with database APIs including ODBC, ADO, ADO.net, or JDBC

· Experience with Apache, Tomcat, J2EE, JMS, etc

· Perl, Python, PHP, or Java experience

· Sockets programming experience

· Database administration experience

· Game industry experience

· Project management experience

· Knowledge of 3rd party billing services such as credit authorization organizations and PayPal

· B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
