Consults with customers to research and identify advanced requirements for application or system design. Interprets and translates complex requirements into functional or technical specifications. Leads
others to create application architectures, designs, programs, testing and supporting documentation for complex computing applications. Writes and compiles complex code and may construct complex database objects based on documented design. Modifies or upgrades complex applications to maintain software functionality. Provides end user support on complex issues; develops and delivers training on use of applications.
Identifies and recommends improvements to system architecture. Supports business partner requests in the change management process by providing context and identifying issues and risks.


Prefer experienced software developer who is capable and comfortable developing both for the client and the server of a distributed web service application. For server development proficiency with Java and web service development (Axis2) is required, as well as an understanding of the basics of SQL development. The applicant should have experience in writing multi-threaded server software. In addition familiarity with Oracle and database optimization would be a plus. For client development, proficiency with Python and a GUI toolkit is required. Must be familiar with Qt / PyQt. Must have good communication skills to work with our customers in gathering and understanding project requirements.
