Title:  Data Architect

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 3 Months +

 

Must have: Senior Data Modeler

· Lead Data Modeler including Relational, Dimensional Star Schema designs

· Conceptual modeling of strategic business processes. 

· Logical modeling of detailed data and process requirements

· Physical modeling – database design, workflow analysis

· Logical/Physical Transformation

Must have:

JAD Facilitator: experience, conducting several hundred facilitated sessions

 

Project Management

 

Master Data Management – Implementing and managing effective Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Reference Data; established Data Management infrastructure

 

Position Summary:

 Gather, analyze, and transform business requirements into logical data models. Validate logical data models with business subject matter experts. Assist Database Administration in transitioning to database schemas from logical data models Define and enforce standards and conventions (definition, naming, abbreviation) Manage and administer metadata repository and modeling CASE tools Support project teams on an ad-hoc, as required basis

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

 Develop strategic plan for support of Clients future information requirements Support effective and efficient business processes in partnership with other software development teams Identify ownership and accountability for enterprise information Develop Enterprise Logical Data Model (ELDM) Create and refine logical data models that reflect concepts/structures in the ELDM and serve as the basis for relational database design. Ensure that information needs and business rules are in compliance with global policies and standards Participate in evaluating new technologies to ensure the continuity and advancement of data and technology architecture within Kinko’s information needs Build a framework for accurately capturing, sharing, distributing, securing, and leveraging, Kinko’s data resources Provide enterprise metadata repository services

 

Skills / Experience:

 

 10+ Years I.T. experience

 Minimum 5 years experience in a Data Architect

 Four year college degree

 Strong background in structured systems and data analysis

 Demonstrated ability with JAD and RAD methodologies

 Minimum 5 years experience in a Data Architect or Data Administrator role

 Expertise in relational database design (normalized and dimensional)

 Skilled with one or more data modeling CASE tools (e.g. ERwin, Silver Run, LBMS, S-Designor)

 Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

 Proficient at time and priority management

 Strong verbal and written communication skills

 Experience with database consolidation and integration development projects, specifically focused on customer data desired

 Retail experience a plus

 Business Intelligence, OLAP product knowledge (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects, Essbase, Micro strategies, etc.) a plus

 Experience with modeling and maintaining XML structures desired
