Database Administrator Manager (Oracle)

DescriptionManage a group of DBA's, assigning priorities, defining procedures and developing SLA’s Develop and execute database migration, change management and configuration management tasks for new releases of MSA products Provide DBA services to internal and external clients in UNIX and Linux environments Designs, installs, and maintains complex database systems including data modeling, access, security, performance, and documentation Leads the designs, development and implementation of database backup and recovery procedures to insure reliability Integrates major, complex systems through the database system Serves as interface between users and IT department Coordinates and participates in large database projects Accountable for overall service level provided by database group to clients or development teams Train less senior personnel

 

Required SkillsRequires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years Oracle experience including design, implementation, backup and recovery, monitoring, and tuning databases.  Minimum 3 years experience in managing a Technical Group Understands complex and advanced database concepts Considers business aspects of problems, and recognizes opportunities for expanding business services. Must be proactive and preventive in problem solving Minimum 1 year experience in OS or database administration Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently on multiple tasks Experience with advance database feature, RAC experience a plus Strong communication and technical skills Knowledge of relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), UNIX or Linux operation system Knowledge of programming or scripting language (JAVA, PL/SQL, Perl) Ability to perform complex DBA tasks (e.g.: create databases using complex structures; ensure data security and integrity; generate complex database migrations) Ability to write complex UNIX scripts and has an understanding of the UNIX architecture
