Database Administrator - SQL

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator will maintain the database by identifying and solving database requirements and supporting users.

 

Essential Functions:

·  Create, design, integrate and oversee implementation of database systems in a client/server environment.

·  Troubleshooting, Optimizing and Maintaining database system performance.

·  With user and assigned personnel, define and specify database access, structure, functional capabilities, etc.

·  Assure systems quality and maintenance of database dictionaries.

·  Advise users and colleagues on problems and priorities.

·  Make recommendations to management on strategy and long-term database needs.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

·  BS degree in Computer Science.

·  6+ years of related experience.

·  Broad and up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in a clustered environment.

·  MCITP: Database Administrator Certification or other equivalent industry certifications.

·  Knowledge of query language and thorough knowledge of referential integrity, triggers and stored procedures.

·  Experience with Oracle a plus.

·  Experience with Linux and mySQL a plus.

·  Willingness to participate in on-call DBA rotation.
