PURPOSE AND MISSION:

 

·  Responsible for development of database security, data access methods, as well as performance monitoring, application tuning, backups and disaster recovery plans.

 

·  Solid understandings of SQL Server installation procedures on both stand alone and VM environment.

 

·  Understanding of storage structures and experience with handling dynamic database growth and reclaiming unused space.

 

·  Solid understandings of database recovery model options and transaction log architecture.

 

·  Knowledge of database backup options as well as recovery of system and user databases.

 

·  Understanding SQL Server mirroring architecture.

 

·  Knowledge of deploying SQL Server replication

 

·  Strong experience monitoring SQL Server activity to include developing and analyzing benchmarking plans.

 

·  Strong experience with DTS and working knowledge of SSIS.

 

·  On-call “24X7” to support production database issues.
 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 8+ plus years of hands on database administration, progressive database design and implementation experience across multiple software platforms. 

 6+ years experience with database tools and languages required (query language; Data Transformation Services (DTS); Monitoring tools) 3+ years of project management and business solution delivery involving medium to large-size enterprise project implementations.

 Requires experience with highly technical database implementations involving relational data base technologies, software development tools, application operating systems, data access methods, graphical user interfaces, collaboration tools and data work flow engines 

 Experience in graphical user interface design, design of business rules, and design of database objects, and data storage structures 

 Knowledge of Extraction Transformation & Loading (ETL), Business Intelligent Tools (BI), data modeling and system prototyping using structured analysis and design methodologies. 

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Technology or equivalent experience

 Database Administrator certification (MCDBA) preferred
