The Database Architect is responsible for architecting and managing a team of Database Administrators to implement and maintain the product's databases and also, performing problem diagnoses and determining resolutions for application and systems software. The Database Architect will be a key person for all ongoing product development efforts from a database design perspective.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Data modeling, design and optimization for new and existing functionality.Defining migration/conversion strategies from existing data modeling to new structure.Ensure adequate database performance through tuning and optimization within the context of the core transaction engine and enterprise data model.Provide day to day supervision and mentoring of other database developers on the team.Managing SQL code (stored procedures, triggers, database scripts) to implement business logic and database maintenance as well as developing database coding standards and naming conventions.Database performance tuning and troubleshooting.Participation in the design and implementation of a data access layer.Required Experience
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS7+ years experience with MS SQL ServerDatabase Architect/Developer with relevant experience in enterprise-class development including all aspects of database design for data warehousing and OLTP information centric-applications.Experience in Design, Implementation, Troubleshoot and Administration ofHigh availability, Failover Clustering solutions.Backup, Disaster Recovery, Replication solutionsHave experience working in data design and development preferably in a healthcare setting.7+ years experience as data modeler/data architect with expertise in data warehousing projects.7+ years of back end application development using Oracle, SQL, Stored Procedures and XML.Experience producing technical design documentation.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field;5-10 years experience leading database design and implementing database applications (transactional and/or data warehouse);Experience with database administration in a development environment;High attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.Healthcare, HL7 experience a strong plus.
