We are currently recruiting for the following position at our facility in Kettering, Ohio.
Database Architect
Summary:
The Production Database Administrator performs a mix of duties such as: database architecture, database administration, data warehouse development support, system design, data analysis, and process engineering. This position will have the critical role in designing the transactional and data warehouse physical databases, working with the Data Services and Engineering teams to plan for hardware, software, and storage needs, and implementing a sustainable, scalable environment for critical applications.
This position supports all customers for SafeNet’s expanding Digital Rights Management. This position will be working both independently and as a team member to insure database efficiency and near 100% up-time.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
Experience:
5+ years of solid experience in the support and administration of DBMS systems in large (TB+, 100+ servers), multi platform, 24x7 environments
Skills:Database architecture, data modeling, hardware architecture and storage design, for large scale, mission critical applicationsWidespread industry knowledge and awareness on best practices, trends, and latest features of all hardware, software and storage componentsExpert knowledge in MS SQL/Windows platforms and t/SQL. Experience with Unix/Windows, Shell Script, ETL, data warehousing concepts and tools a plusA self –starter with good analytical and problem solving skillsA strong and willing mentor to less experienced staffStrong follow-through, focused and detailed oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with people in technical and non technical roles.
Travel: Minimal
Licensures, Certifications: MCDBA or MCITP: Database Administrator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
OLTP Databases and Data warehouseCreate, tune, administrate and maintain databases, includes tables, table spaces, database instances plus stored procedures, triggers, indices, thresholds, etc.Research, recommended and implement database modifications and system upgrades to achieve and improve production systems performance goals.Impact analysis and change control for all database updates to stored procedures, tables, indexes, etc.Assist in development of production and development architectures, logical and physical modeling, and data analysis. Also assist in the planning/setup/updating of staging, development, and test environments.
