Database Configuration Specialist

As our technical Configuration Specialist (CS), based in Austin, TX find yourself applying your technical skills and your passion for solving complex problems as you work with Project Managers (PM) in handling 120 day software projects for banks and credit unions. While the PM is mostly responsible for the timing and flow of the project, as well as most customer communications, the Configuration Specialist has the distinct opportunity to concentrate on the technical nuts and bolts of the project in turning customer requirements into reality.

Responsibilities:Set up and configure hardware involving multiple servers per project. Analyze FI datasets for mapping and database import. Configuration of real time data transfer and mapping of batched data. Install and configure core and peripheral software and real time adapters. Update database properties tables and tune peripheral applications. Construction and scheduling of automated processes. Creation of custom processing scripts where needed. Some Level II/III tech support and future application upgrades.

Required knowledge/skills include:Strong problem-solving skills Strong MS SQL skills, solid understanding of database design and table relationships Basic Hardware configuration and Network troubleshooting skills - Windows OS, MS SQL2005, IIS, and http/https call set-up within proprietary adapters Data migration experience Knowledge of packet trace/capture applications and practices is valued Ability to remain patient with non-technical customers Technical writing skills a plus Knowledge of Banking practices is helpful VMware experience not required, but a plus Experience with scripting languages also helpful
