Job Scope:

Member of the product development team, provide DBA related assistance to multiple groups within the company.

 

General responsibilities will include:Assist with the design and implementation of new product features Assist customer support analysts and engineers with troubleshooting database related issues in customer production environments. Assist implementation teams troubleshooting database related issues for new customers. Assist infrastructure team in installing and maintaining internal environments for development, testing, and sales demos.  

 

Tasks may include:Data Modeling Develop SQL and PL/SQL code Oracle performance analysis. Troubleshoot Oracle connectivity problems.   Assist with data migration work. This may involve data mapping, custom coding, and developing SQLLoader control files. Cloning internal environments, new Oracle installations, applying patches, troubleshooting issues in test and development environments, maintaining all internal environments. Provide database related training to other groups.  

 

Required:Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with all DBA tasks on 9i/10g: installation, configuration, patching, migration, backup and recovery, client configuration, storage management. Experience with all aspects of Oracle performance tuning: gathering and interpreting performance statistics, instance tuning, SQL query optimization. Experience troubleshooting client connectivity issues (especially concerning JDBC) and Oracle Networking problems in a client/server environment. Experience managing Oracle in a RAC environment. Experience developing SQL and strong PL/SQL programming skills. Experience with data modeling, logical and physical database design. Experience with Oracle utilities, SQLLoader, export/import, Data Pump. Excellent communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.  

 

Desired additional experience:Oracle 11. Java. J2EE architecture and application servers (Tomcat, Websphere). Familiarity with various Windows and Unix (Linux, AIX, Solaris) operating systems. Shell scripting and command files. General programming skills. VMWare.
