Developer Services Engineer

Description:The eBay Developer Services organization is responsible for providing technical design and code level support to software engineers coding on the eBay Platform. The primary objective is to enable the effective use of a set of eBay proprietary frameworks, tools, and services to create innovative features for the eBay.com website as well as remote applications that integrate with the eBay platform. Responsibilities: Provide direct assistance to software engineersvia e-mail, phone and forums. Diagnose issues across the platform, including debugging Work with platform engineers to resolve emergent issues Improve the developer & support experience by writing docs, code samples, and knowledge base articles Manages workload and other assignments efficiently while being able to resolve time-critical situations reliably and professionally Qualifications:Requirements:  5+ years of professional related experience or Master’s Degree and 3+ years or Doctorate and 1+ years. BSEE, CS or other relevant technical degree required  4+ years front end web development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript 4+ years back end web development using Java, web application frameworks, and object/relational mapping Experience with Web Services, SOAP, and/or SOA. Experience developing & debugging in Eclipse and using version control systems like ClearCase Experience using and getting work done on Windows 2K or later Willing and able to learn, master, and mentor other engineers on new technology platforms Experience providing technical support or other professional services preferred Excellent English speaking and writing skills required.
