Product Background:
Informatica products employ a Service Oriented Architecture and offer batch, real-time as well as on-demand service and are used by more than 2000 Global customers in verticals like Retail, Financial, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management. Customer use Informatica products, to build Data Warehouses, Operational Data Stores, Data Migration and Data Synchronization solutions and other broader data integration solutions.

The Product team is responsible for research and development of products that solve customers’ problem as well as help penetrate emerging markets. The product employs an adaptive architecture to provide a plethora of rich services such - transformation, connectivity, metadata management, administration, reporting with high performance & scalability, high degree of re-usability and extensibility. The product team has secured many patents as result of breakthrough research and development.

Job Description:
Performance and scalability are core elements of Informatica products. The development team is committed to delivering industry-differentiating features to our customers for the full suite of Informatica products. In addition to architecting performance features and enhancements for product releases, the team works jointly with customers, 3rd party hardware and software vendors and internal product management and QA teams in defining and publishing benchmarks beyond accepted industry standards.

As the Development Architect for Performance, the individual will be responsible for all architectural enhancements pertaining to performance and scalability of Informatica products. In particular, the candidate will oversee SMP and cluster/grid optimization, cross-product optimization (with data quality tools, messaging systems, unstructured data sources), and deeper integration with target RDBMSes. The candidate must be highly motivated and energetic and is expected to work with little guidance. The individual must demonstrate leadership when working with other architects, technical individuals and product marketing. You will work very closely with the performance benchmarking and development teams in overseeing not only the development activities but also be a key contributor to our internal and external benchmarking activities.

This position reports to the Director R&D, Data Services.

Requirements:BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science
Experience in architecting and building highly scalable enterprise class software products
Broad and deep understanding on technologies such as SMP, Grid, deadlocks, multi-threading, parallel processing, SOA, XML/Xquery and WebService.
Excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong hands-on OO design and C++ skills
Database internals, operating system, networking, storage tuning
Strong Unix/Linux and Windows skills
