Development Manager
The Service Business Intelligence team is seeking an experienced Development Manager to drive the architecture, design, and implementation of our BI solutions that focus on capacity management of many of key Windows Live services. You will get exposure and accountabilities in many of the largest and highest traffic platforms on the internet. This is a unique opportunity to join the team in the infancy of the program and have potential to make huge impact to Microsoft’s “Software as a Service” strategy. We are looking for a passionate senior software professional with strong technical and development skills, customer focus, leadership qualities, people management experience, communication & cross-group skills, ability to quickly understand and pickup new technologies & applications, and ability to drive for results. We are Your responsibilities will include owning the architecture and design of the products, development specifications and enforcing engineering excellence while driving quality in all phases of development. Your responsibilities also include hiring and mentoring team members, developing front line leads/managers, and building the best engineering practices by continuous process improvement. The position has the following responsibilities:· Lead a team of passionate and talented developers to successful delivery of services and features.· Work with Program Management, Test and Operations teams to carry systems through the full build, test, and deploy lifecycle.· Prepare successful development and deployment plans that take into account the effort involved, available resources and business * circumstances.· Recommend and drive strategies to increase accessibility and functionality for business intelligence solutions.· Identify industry development management trends, and tools while leading the adoption of best practices. Specific qualifications include:· 6 years experience in architecting, designing, developing and deploying robust web based systems with emphasis on performance, scalability, reliability, availability at the system and component levels.· 4 years of development and analysis experience in enterprise business intelligence solutions including database performance tuning, architecting data ETL and data profiling.· Demonstrated track record of hiring, leading, managing, coaching, and motivating strong and successful development teams· Demonstrated experience working through the full product cycle from initial design to final product delivery.· BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
