Towson University is seeking a full-time Director–Enterprise Information Architecture to join our University Marketing team. Applicants should have at least 5 years experience in IA, leading user-centered design projects for enterprise websites and software applications. We’re looking for someone who is a strategic thinker, smart, curious, comfortable with ambiguity and who has a healthy sense of humor. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of University Marketing & Communications.

 

This Director will create the Information Architecture for our informational, marketing and transactional website. You will recommend content and functionality, define its organization, map our strategy to accommodate change and growth over time, ensure intuitive, user-friendly organization and navigation systems, and provide ongoing analysis and improvement of the site’s organizational and navigational foundation. You will collaborate with the university’s technical staff, content strategist, marketing team and clients to develop and present IA deliverables. Project management experience is a must.

 

The ideal candidate also will provide thought leadership in new technology that improves the user experience, management and/or effectiveness of the website; existing or emerging outbound communications technology; and content management systems.

Requirements: Five years experience working with a major enterprise-wide website; Bachelor’s degree in a related field; strong business acumen; superb oral and written communication skills; experience in leading and being a part of a multidisciplinary team; and project management experience. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
