Aware, Inc. is a 120-person publicly held company based in Bedford, Massachusetts. Aware has three main businesses. First, it is a worldwide leader in the development and marketing of intellectual property for broadband communications. Aware licenses its StratiPHY™ DSL products to semiconductor manufacturers that build integrated circuits for telecom equipment. Second, Aware's Test and Diagnostics modules and software products are used by equipment and phone companies to provision DSL circuits. Finally, Aware’s Biometrics and Image Compression software products enable integrators and government agencies to optimize and transport biometric images according to international standards.

 

Aware is seeking a technical sales professional who will be responsible for sales of Aware's biometrics software products to federal government customers and systems integrators. The ideal Director Federal Sales candidate will have five to ten years of successful experience in software sales to systems integrators and/or government customers. Experience with biometrics, security products, and/or smart cards is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities Identify, qualify, prioritize, develop, and close sales opportunities Present and demonstrate software products to potential customers Manage customer accounts, including technical support Collect and report market information and requirements Identify new product feature requirements Respond to RFIs and RFPs Attend and report on government workshops and industry events Establish relationships with both technical and managerial staff

Mandatory RequirementsExperience selling software to the government sector Ability to work proactively with little supervision Understanding of software development process Effective written and verbal presentation skills Proven sales track record

Desirable Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree Prior relationships with federal systems integrators Prior relationships with government agencies such as DHS, DoD, FBI, State

Travel10%, mostly to HQ near Boston (ideal candidate will be located in the Washington, DC metro area but will report to Aware's headquarters in Bedford, MA)
