The company designs, develops, and supports a comprehensive suite of information products for hospitals and laboratories that include laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy systems. Sunquest uses open systems that are scalable to any size hospital or healthcare network.We are actively searching for an experienced Director, Product Management/Strategy to join our Tucson, Arizona team. Role Summary: The Director of Product Management/Strategy has a business-orientation and is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan for a specific product family. Maintains close relationship with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials) for awareness of market needs and perspectives. This includes identification of appropriate markets and development of effective marketing strategies and tactics. This person is involved through all stages of a product family's lifecycle. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Seek new market opportunities within the company's distinctive competence • Initiate market research and sizing markets • Document market problems (both existing customers and future customers) • Analyze product performance and sales success • Document product profitability and operational metrics • Create and maintain the business case • Product pricing • Determine buy/build/partner decisions • Serve as the solution expert when dealing with thought leaders, analysts, and press • Position the product for all markets and all buyers • Document the ideal sales process • Provide high-level market and cross-product requirements • Maintain the product family roadmap • Approve final marketing and go-to-market plans

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales or Marketing. MBA preferred.• 15 years experience in software product marketing, software product planning or software consulting environment including 5 years staff management experience. • Expert level of knowledge of HIT industry products and market trends.• Thorough knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques.• Able to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating resources (people and technical) from multiple areas of the company.
