We are looking for a Director of Web Development to define and direct the development of the portal that handles our game, our sport related content, our commercial activity and our community. The Director of Web Development is responsible for helping define the architecture of the portal, designing the code that implements the required features and managing the development team that implements them. The various components of the portal will include account management, authentication, billing, advertising, streaming media content, a sophisticated marketplace for users to buy products, a launcher for the game, social networking (i.e. chat, blogs, forums etc.) and usage reporting (i.e. number of unique users, daily revenue statistics, click-throughs etc.).Our team is first and foremost a team of entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate must be able to think fast on their feet, entrepreneurial, creative and willing to adapt to a fast-moving market. Candidates should be comfortable leading teams of skilled developers, hiring and firing, setting budgets, prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects and work-streams and working with other departments (e.g. marketing, art, game design etc.). A passion for building excellent software and writing elegant, efficient code is a must. A passion for sports and games is a plus.Qualifications:- 5-7 years of professional web development experience of which at least 2 years should be at a senior level.- Deep knowledge of PHP and HTML/DHTML/XML/CSS- Proficiency with Flash and ActionScript 2.0/3.0 and AJAX- Experience working with Crystal Reports or other reporting software- Sufficient familiarity with SQL to work with a Database Engineer- Development experience or deep knowledge of the following areas of web technology: Authentication and Billing, Account Management, Shopping Carts and Web Stores, Streaming Media, Social Networking, Usage Reporting- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to write high-quality specifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification or experience in IT, web development or computer science.Valued Skills:- Prior experience in the entertainment industry, particularly having launched a site as a senior developer or lead- Proficiency with C++- Proficiency with SQL and database architecture- Graphic design experience and a good-eye for elegant user-interface
