Director of Information Technology

Our client, a Chicago-based financial service center operator, is looking for a Director of Information Technology to join their team.  The Director of Information Technology will be based in Chicago with frequent travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The ideal candidate will have had experience managing an IT organization in a firm, preferable in retail or a related industry, with many locations and heavy usage of Point-Of-Sale systems.  It is also a strong to plus to have worked in an organizaiton experiencing strong growth and having overcome the type of issues that expansion presents, such as outgrowing current infrastructure, policies, and procedures, and having the experience necessary to help make the changes necessary to accommodate future expansion.  Our client has more than 300 locations nationwide and has experienced significant growth year after year. 
The focus on this role will be updating and adding process including installing PMO based processes, implementing QA processes, revamping current proprietary software written in .Net and SQL, and overseeing the build-out of a data center.  This role will be key in upgrading the release of in-house developed software including making sure that software is released on time and within budget with as few defects as possible.  In addition, this position has the responsibility to oversee company technical resources including hardware, networking capabilities, and telecom systems.  Last, this role will oversee the Help Desk and the Field Support teams.  This is a V.P. level role reporting to top leadership. 

Requirements:

*  5-plus years of experience in an IT managerial role as a CTO or Director of Information Technology.
*  Experience managing development infrastructure including budget and resource planning in a company that has experienced a significant growth cycle.
*  Must have had application development experience in Microsoft technologies including .Net and SQL.
*  Have a very strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and experience working in Waterfall methodologies.
*  Experience establishing a PMO is a plus as is PMP certification.
*  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required a Masters Degree is strongly preferred.
