Through its strategic focus on delivering clinical and financial results to the high-acuity areas of the hospital (Emergency Department, Perioperative Suite, and Intensive Care Units), Picis has carved out a unique competitive position in the marketplace. As we increasingly unite and leverage technologies across our three major product lines, the Director of Product Management for Foundation Technologies and his/her team will drive our unifying strategies for everything from front-end (UI and usability) to back-end (database, tools, implementation and deployment, security management, interoperability, performance, etc.) technologies, and others in between.
Reporting to the Sr. VP of Global Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer, you will play the key strategic role of guiding a team charged with increasing the use of common technologies and components in our worldwide offerings. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing profitable new products for the target market(s) by leveraging cross-product technology to improve time-to-market, supportability and overall cost-effectiveness. You and your team will define and guide the development of solutions from existing ideas, both external and internal, and develop new ideas into common tools and technologies based on your industry experience and ongoing contact with customers, prospects, senior management, systems architects and management, industry analysts, other experts, and the market as a whole.
You will work closely with your counterparts in development, quality assurance, sales, client services, professional services and other product management teams. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy: a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand its problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must be able to communicate fluently with all areas of the company. You will present ideas to executive management for funding and staffing (the why of the ideas you and your team propose). You will work with engineering and quality assurance counterparts to define product/technology requirements (the what and the when that will meet the needs of the market). You will work with product marketing and marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the positioning, key benefits, and target customer set(s). You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product/technology offerings, working with Sales and key customers on important sales opportunities. Where appropriate, based on make/buy/partner decisions, you and your team will work with 3rd party technology partners to incorporate their technologies into our solutions.
