Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Development to lead our Software Teams.  As part of our  Management Team you would have the opportunity to provide the software support with the latest in technology.  This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.Our Company is known for the technology it has brought to this industry and is a promising opportunity for the right individual to join a growing company that is committed to further developing the U.S. market with internationally proven products and solutions. The purpose of this position is to provide structure and support to the Software Department as it relates to Savanna.NET, Projects, and Service to the customers. 

  Essential Functions – Job Duties:

Assist with creating future plans for development of Savanna.NET software Foster the collaboration and growth of Savanna.NET with Germany Insure work standards are met as indicated by schedules and customer-service standards; monitoring productivity and quality; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements Analyze and implement types of documentation to as it relates to software based on technical, user, sales, and project management Coordinate and follow through on the technical aspects of Savanna.net along with the project schedules Responsible for creating overall development project schedules and overseeing budgets.  Establish objectives with the Project Development Lead to accomplish projects schedules.  Lead the group through projects to follow through on projects timely. Support projects and generate costing methods to establish standards for future estimates Provide support and pricing to Sales as the development of the software exists based on business needs. Support Sales and Marketing strategies to develop the product in the marketplace as demand dictates. Develop long term strategic plans, assisting teams with accomplishing short term plans

 

Non-Essential Functions – Job Duties:

Train Business Analyst in the role to better understand Software and the support to Sales as it relates to the Customer.Coordinate the efforts of the next major version release of Savanna.NET and plan the roll out.Perform other duties as assigned.

 



Skills and Requirements:

BS Degree5 years experience in technical software with a thorough understanding of software architectures 5 years experience in a management position with a proven track record of success with a software department or businessKnowledge of the technical tools, organization and styles available to build the framework of software in with the language of C# in an SQL environmentWillingness to travel up to 30%Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Project. Ability to communicate in an accurate and appropriate way with customers and team members. Ability to adjust priorities as project schedules dictate Strong work ethic Team player – ability to see the “big picture” and accommodate other team members’ priorities, willing to assist others. Understand the importance of using standards to improve project efficiencies. Build strong interpersonal relationships with both internal professionals and clients as well as with Westfalia Germany; and be innovative, creative, and forward thinking.Willing to take on new responsibilities
