The person for this role will provide a fresh view into IT technology strategy and will help drive advancements in the companys use of technology. They will establish, implement, and maintain a unified technology strategy for the organization. They will be part of a team of approximately 10 senior IT specialists and will actively participate in the highest profile, most strategic IT initiatives in the enterprise. This role is not only accountable for setting our technology strategy, but is also required to assist project teams in implementing the strategy.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required To Perform Essential Functions: The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in a variety of technical roles, as well as 3+ years in an architect position. Experience in the retail industry is strongly desired but not required. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required since this role will need to effectively interact with fellow associates ranging from highly skilled technical individuals to senior levels of management. The candidate must be able to develop and articulate a vision of the future for the use of technology in the enterprise.They will have experience in a broad range of topics and technologies including J2EE, eCommerce, SOA, distributed databases, mobility, OS virtualization, performance monitoring and management, Business Intelligence, Agile development methods, EAI, Web 2.0, Linux, data warehousing, etc. The candidate will need to be able to address these technologies from a development, operations, business, and vendor management perspective. o Experience architecting and implementing an enterprise data framework on a scale similar to Sears Holdings addressing transactional, operational, and analytical data strategies in a highly heterogeneous data management environmento Experience modeling data for enterprise reusability and extensibility across multiple lines of businesso Experience with meta-data management and data sourcing in an SOA frameworko Experience building a Enterprise Data Architecture discipline from the ground upSears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
