Document Specialist with Sharepoint Expertise
Job Summary:
Writes, edits, and proofreads a variety of documents. Responsible for assuring the quality of all engineering and non-engineering documentation. Responsible for maintaining the organization of all corporate documents utilizing the corporate document management tool.
Essential Functions:
· Writes, edits, and proofreads a variety of documents.
· Develops and maintains company templates.
· Corrects any grammatical, typographical, formatting, or compositional errors in original documents.
· Ensures that all documents meet established content standards.
· Manages SharePoint
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this industry.
· May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document.
· Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
· Works with Quality Manager to establish and maintain documentation standards and documentation control standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Coordinate functions with other administrative support personnel including providing support during lunch, vacation, switchboard, etc.
· Mentor Administrative team in the areas of document management and use of Microsoft Office.
· Troubleshoots technical issues in text, graphic files, and printing.
· Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
· Able to utilize and eventually master SharePoint.
·Must have a high level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
· Able to use initiative and judgment when making decisions.
· Able to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations using demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
· Must be customer focused and results oriented.
· Able to work with various levels of management within the corporation.
· Able to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects and follow through to ensure tasks are complete.
· Able to learn new software tools and apply their use to improving performance in the areas of documentation management and/or administrative processes.
· Able to use all applicable office equipment such as fax machine, copier, etc.
· Must have a working knowledge of Internet applications and search engines.
· Must be knowledgeable of commonly used office/business concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Must have advanced skills in business English, spelling and punctuation, office practices and procedures, and document preparation. Ability to write documents and procedures according to direction provided by supervisor or SME in a clear and concise manner.
· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing task and demands.
· Must be focused on integrity, accuracy, consistency, and providing outstanding value by exhibiting attention to detail, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Required Credentials:
· Requires Associates Degree in English, communication, or related area or equivalent with 2-4 years of document writing and/or editing experience.
· 2-4 years of experience in related software development industries
· Bachelor’s degree preferred in English, communication, or related area.
