Reference Code: 10970 Documentation Specialist Practiceworks is currently seeking a Documenation Specialist located in Atlanta, GA.General Summary: Under minimal supervision performs writing tasks on documentation projects designed to support the PracticeWorks’ product offerings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Writes and maintains end user documentation (manuals and online help) to support PracticeWorks’ products using established styles and procedures • Edits documents based on technical reviews by QA, development, support, and training. • Reviews and provides peer edits for other documentation specialists. • Learns each PracticeWorks product by reviewing old user guides, release notes, and any materials available. Attends training sessions for a better understanding of the product. Simulates use of product to learn product features and functions. • Prepares project plan for each set of documentation deliverables. Updates plans and calendars as project scope and release dates change. • Works with the QA team for clarification of product functionality. • Works with the development team to prepare for upcoming releases (i.e., Demo Days, product release dates and timelines). • Each documentation specialist has a primary focus (Dental, Oral, or Ortho) and work is provided directly from development. Projects are coordinated and work is balanced by the team lead with the help of the Manager. • Each documentation specialist works independently on writing projects but is reliant on other documentation specialists and educational developers / product specialists for review and edits. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, journalism or related field. • 3-5 years writing experience in the software industry. • Ability to quickly learn multiple software products. • Working knowledge of current versions of Framemaker and Robohelp.
