Position Summary

 

ELT is looking for an E-Learning Expert with hands on experience developing Flex / Flash / XML and PHP applications to streamline our production and implementation processes as we design our next generation of dynamic, highly customizable E-learning courseware.

 

ELT is looking for ways to shorten our current development timelines while continuing to offer clients extremely customizable and modular products.  This expert will work with our development team to develop an action plan, specifications, tools and templates to bring imaginative innovations to the next generation of our courseware.

 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing Flash-based applications and E-learning courseware which yield high levels of customer satisfaction and tangible business results. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 Production Automation – play a key role in streamlining our production process. This will involve developing a web application which duplicates the functionality of our current Excel customization worksheets.  These worksheets have been programmed to generate XML files used to customize our courseware.  The application must be smart enough so that it can easily adapt to changes in the course and support new courses.

 Courseware Delivery – our next generation product is going to be fundamentally different from our current courses.  This product will demand that we take configuration to a whole new level.  We would like to allow clients to “self configure” their own course structure.  The other challenge associated with this product is that it will contain full motion video, a medium that we have never built into our existing courseware or delivered via our LMS.

 Low bandwidth courseware player – using the latest development technologies (e.g. Adobe AIR) build a remote course player to be deployed in retail environments or other situations where there is limited bandwidth. The course will communicate back to the LMS but the actual content would be served up locally.

 Evaluate code for SCORM/AICC courseware and make changes to ease the implementation of our courseware on 3rd party learning management systems.

 Collaborate with our development team to create the tools, templates and processes that will support the development, configuration, customization and implementation of the next generation of our courseware.

 

Requirements

 ActionScript, JavaScript, DHTML and extensive experience in XML data structureA minimum of 5 years experience working with XML/Flash to develop dynamic modular E-learning coursewareExtensive experience of E-learning courseware production workflow and its requisite toolsThorough knowledge of SCORM/AICC specificationsBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
