ENGINEERING SPECIALIST IVAssigned IPT: Range/Engineering Group Task: F-22 PMS Type: Regular/Full-TimeStatus: ExemptDevelops and tests equipment, applying knowledge of engineering technology, under direction of engineering and scientific staff. Reviews project instructions to ascertain specifications, procedures, objectives, equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions, such as part redesign or substitution of material or parts. Sets up and conducts tests of complete systems and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control. Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and makes recommendations for changes in product or test method. Creates instruction manuals and other documentation necessary to operate the system. Creates project schedules to track progress on projects and to ensure that deadlines are met. Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications. Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (1) Can get along with co-workers, peers, customers, and supervisors without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (2) Perform work activities requiring interacting, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (3) respond appropriately and professionally to criticisms from a supervisor.Requirements: Education / Work Experience Required: HS: 10-15; AS: 8-13; BS: 6-11 with degree in engineering or related technical field.The Engineering Specialist will act as Mission Planner (MP) in the F-22 Flight Operations Section. The MP will be assigned to providing mission plans and test execution support to F-22 Engineering and Operations sections. Interface with F-22 engineering and management personnel to determine and describe requirements for new or modified flight test, ground test, and related support projects, equipment, systems, and interfaces including of pre-test configuration including database, generate/review test cards, pilot briefs and supporting documentation. Reduce/Analyze data as required. Provide configuration management and reporting on all data required for mission execution including system configuration, and mission specific details. Provide program management support associated with F-22 test planning, test scheduling, test mission execution, pre and post mission briefings, flight notes, reporting and briefing customers. Provides general management coordination and technical support for mission planning assets. Monitors and updates mission status information systems. Requires a minimum of a Secret SAR security clearance.U.S. citizenship required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
