Description:In accordance with sound engineering practices and RA/IPB processes This includes (but is not limited) to developing test cases and/or plans, executing tests or automated scripts, documenting the results of tests, and monitoring the status of tests. This also includes developing and setting up the appropriate test equipment, automated scripts and developing any required logic controller programs to perform the testing. Other activities include detecting defects, and verifying that defects have been resolved. May become specialized in test case authoring, development of testware or other specific test related activities. Must have demonstrated the ability to consistently meet personal commitments and work effectively in a diverse team environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Functional Purpose: Effectively and independently contribute to project success by developing solutions to product requirements through engineering design activities.Responsibilities:- Independently specify, design and implement high quality, maintainable test cases/testware and automated test subsystems.- Develop and execute test plans / testware or automated test tools.- Maintain the highest standards and awareness of software quality.- Independently keep current and well informed on software engineering methodologies and technologies through personal research and training.Key Competencies:- Professional/Technical Excellence - Expertise in test methodology. Focus on activities that add value.Qualifications:EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Required: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with concentration in software; or equivalent experience-based knowledge.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Required: An understanding of modern engineering principles is desired with a control engineering background. This is characterized by application of systems using A-B and other competitive controls. Strong technical skills, testing skills, and effective communication skills are required. Communications, networking, and systems integration experience is highly preferred. Practical experience performing testing on large projects comprised of both software and embedded firmware is highly desired. General control experience is recommended. Experience with:- Logic Controllers (SLCs, PLCs, MicroLogix) and programming packages such as RSLogix5,500 and 5000.- Various Peripheral Devices associated with the above controllers.- Wonderware, Fix Intellution DMACS or RSView, or RSView32.- Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP operating systems, basic usage.- Familiar with Microsoft Office products is required.Knowledge of PanelBuilder or PanelView product lines a plus.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceRockwell Automation offers a competitive benefit plan.
