Education Product Developer

Description:This position is responsible for content design, development and occasional delivery of both technical and business/process learning solutions for customers, internal employees and external partners. Our developers work directly with a number of subject matter experts in the development of training materials for NetApp product solutions and applications. We develop for a wide range of classroom as well as alternative learning technologies such as WBT, video-based learning, and knowledge management systems.Requirements:* Good written and verbal communication skills. * Good interpersonal communication and collaborative relationship building skills are needed.* May work with outside contractors or vendors as part of the project team.* Solid understanding of data storage-related technologies.* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.* Ability to apply course development standards, templates, and style sheets.* Ability to follow standardized development processes and procedures.* Demonstrated experience in managing to project schedules on both an individual and team basis.Education and Experience: * A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or other related technical field; or a Master of Arts Degree in Instructional Design; or equivalent experience is required.* Experience with the design and development of training materials required. Formal education in Instructional Design a plus.* Experience teaching technical courses in the classroom a plus.* Experience designing instruction for web-based training a plus.* Knowledge of the data storage field a strong plus.* Technical background in one or more of the following areas is required: UNIX, Windows, NAS or SAN System Administration, Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, virtualization, networking, CCNA or MCSE certification* Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.Qualifications:Essential Functions: * Design and develop content for instructor-led learning solutions* Design and develop content for alternate delivery methods for learning solutions.* Define and manage personal project development schedules. * Write design documents.* Develop or modify courses, modules, and or learning objects as specified in project plans.* Develop courses using alternative delivery media.* Build and maintain personal technical proficiency on NetApp products and solutions.* As part of a team of developers, manage project schedules and collaborative development efforts. * For lab designed lab exercises, determine new equipment requirements, research and make expansion recommendations.* Develop learning assessments to measure participant learning. * Teach train-the-trainer sessions or pilot classes.Salary/Benefits: > $75,000To learn more about NetApp employee benefits go to: http://www.netapp.com/jobs/benefits.htmlJob Location: Sunnyvale, CAJob Number: RUSANAP2119-592287Company URL: http://www.netapp.comCompany Profile:NetApp creates innovative storage and data management solutions that help accelerate business breakthroughs and deliver outstanding cost efficiency.
