Positions are available in both our Dallas and Denver development offices.

The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of components for Prodea Systems' Home Networking Solution. The candidate will also provide valuable input towards the overall architectural design. The candidate will work on the Set-top Box (STB) / Digital Media Adapter (DMA) and its corresponding sub-components. The candidate is expected to generate design and unit testing documents in accordance with standard development guidelines. Further, the candidate may be called upon to provide statuses and demonstrations to upper management and potential customers. This may or may not include travel.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:Experience with commercial software development through the full software development lifecycleEntrepreneurial drive and the ability to excel within an startup environment, while at the same time adhering to software engineering best practices.Demonstrated ability to deliver products on time. BSEE/BSCS, 2-5+ years development experience. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment collaborating with a cross-functional team 

Required Skills:Embedded real-time C programming experienceEmbedded Linux development experience.Set-top box (Satellite, Cable, or IP) experience. OS, Drivers, Middleware, or UI/application levels.

 Additional Desired Skills or Experience:Industry knowledge of media technologies (audio/video formats).Embedded Linux kernel/driver development experienceDigital Rights Management (DRM)Embedded Browser technologiesNetworking and/or web services protocols (TCP, UDP/IP,PPP, HTTP). DLNA, UPnP technologiesIP Telephony protocols.
