Facilities Engineer

Speakeasy’s broadband services are available in most metropolitan areas within the 48 contiguous United States. Position summary:Under minimal supervision, you will need to maintain and troubleshoot a variety of facility components and equipment. This includes plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety systems. You will be working in both an office and data center environment. Responsibilities:• Working with vendors to resolve facility issues
• Working off of a trouble ticket system to resolve end-user requests
• Handling corporate security issues (badges, access)
• Manage corporate cell phone accounts
• Work with building management on maintenance issues and requirements
• Physical installation, auditing, installing, and maintaining data facilities and equipment
• Perform cabinet audits, label devices and cabling, build custom cabling when needed.
• Help ensure all inventory databases are kept accurate and up-to-date.
• Space forecasting and planning
• Ability to work off-hours as required.
 Skills and experience required:• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience
• Knowledge of and experience in building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire and security systems
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
• Must have good communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs for an extended period of time
• May be required to work in tight or confined spaces, use a ladder to access high places, climb stairs as required to access services areas, and stand for long periods of time
• Requires the ability to carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs effectively and safety
• Ability to repair a variety of office equipment and building systems
• Willingness to work long shifts often at odd hours and often at short notice
• Light travel (once per quarter)
• Low voltage cabling certification and data center experience a plus
• Knowledge of DC plant a plus
