Field Testing Engineer

Purpose of Position:
The Field Test Engineer will create, configure, upgrade and validate Livelink environments that represent actual customer installations. Then Field Test Engineer will also perform Alpha, Beta, and Acceptance Testing and assist with troubleshooting deployment issues. This role requires the individual to provide solutions to complex problems, involve broad in-depth product knowledge.


Primary Duties:
1. Maintaining environments to perform alpha, beta, and acceptance testing.
2. Focus on customer environments to while testing performance, sizing, scaling, and clusters in order to provide best practices and white papers.
3. Testing of Open Text product issues within various environments for validation and solution purposes.
4. Collaborating with other departments and teams in troubleshooting issues.
5. Reporting software bugs and customer suggestions.


Skills and Knowledge:
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills required.
• Familiarity with one or more operating systems (NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Solaris, HPUX, Linux).
• Experience with test scripting (WebLoad or Selenium) experience would be helpful.
• Experience with Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL, including SQL programming.
• Experience in the use and configuration of Web HTTP servers (IIS, SUN, Apache).
• Previous document management experience is an asset.
• An understanding of networking, SAN’s, e-mail servers, and indexing would be very desirable.


Education:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or College diploma or equivalent experience.
