Lucid’s bright and sunny office is conveniently located in uptown Oakland, CA, only 1 block from BART. We are nestled among dozens of coffee shops and restaurants, and located a short stroll from sparkling Lake Merritt. Lucid seeks to build a skilled, collaborative, and creative team of self-starters that will contribute to and participate in the expansion of this exciting company.


Position Summary:

Lucid Design Group is hiring a Flash Developer with proven expertise in Adobe Flash CS3 and its surrounding technologies. As Flash Developer you will be responsible for enhancing and extending the features of the dashboards. You must be comfortable and skilled at rapidly designing and digesting conceptual models with the creative team; working with code written by other team developers; maintaining design consistency within the current framework; and exploring new and innovative ways in which designs can improve usability and enhance the excitement for our end users.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as collaborator, lead, and/or sole developer of multimedia components and dynamic Flash modules (for example: advanced menus, data graphics, and social networking interfaces)Develop Flash templates for the Building Dashboard® framework; maintain and improve upon existing Flash modules as neededWork closely with the creative team from design mock-up to final implementation; coordinate with other Flash developers and the webmaster as neededAssess development documents, priority lists, and implementation plans for feasibility and supply accurate development timeframe estimates

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Advanced Flash development with expertise in Actionscript 3.0 (heavily OO)Exceptional communication, presentation and organizational skills in previous positionsB.A./B.S. or equivalent experience and at least 3+ years of related professional experience
Preferred but not required: general web development experience (XML, CSS, Web services, AJAX), PHP knowledge, SQL and relational database design, Flash component development, experience with version control software (SVN), and adeptness in graphics applications creating high-quality vector art or user interfaces (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

A strong collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with the development team on multiple projects simultaneously is indispensable. For this reason, and for the successful execution of client-oriented dashboard displays, promptness, attention to detail, accuracy and a logical, transparent work flow are also vital. We expect the ideal candidate to possess expert Flash knowledge, abundant creativity, and a pro-active, solution-oriented mindset.
