Flash Gaming Programmer

Responsibilities include:Will perform the development and integration for customized solutions based on external and internal customer requirements. He/She will work closely with projects managers, graphic designers, media producers, test engineers and clients as part of a team to design, develop, and implement customized solutions that support external customers as well as internal production teams. Types of customization can include:Development or customization of new e-learning models, gaming systems, quizzes, custom interactives, or e-learning systems using the following possible technologies: Flash, Flex, ActionScript (1.0, 2.0, or 3.0), XML, XSLT, PHP, Java.Development or customization of authoring-efficiency tools (Flash-based WYSIWYG tools to author XML-based content) using Flash, and xml technologies.Required Knowledge and Skills:Skills in Adobe Flash 7 and Adobe Flash 8 utilizing ActionScript 1 and ActionScript 2 for creating dynamic web applications.Skills in consuming XML with FlashSkills in 1 of the following:Flex 2.0 and Flash 9 utilizing ActionScript 3 and XMLServerside Scripting (JSP, PHP, etc..)/SQL/Database technologiesJava DevelopmentOther Programming Languages (VB, Perl, etc...)Intermediate to advanced skills in JavaScriptKnowledge of software engineering principles and practicesBasic understanding of standard design patterns such as MVCSolid communication skillsSelf directed - requires minimal oversightPreferred Knowledge and Skills:Intermediate to Advanced skills in XML Application DevelopmentDegree (BS or MS) in Computer Science or Information Technology (or coursework taken in program) Job Title: Flash Gaming Programmer Company: Element K Location: Rochester, NY 14623 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Company: Element K
