G/L Accountant, Emeryville

Job Summary

HomeGain, is an industry leading company located in Emeryville, and easily accessed via BART and the Emery-Go-Round shuttle. We are looking for a motivated individual to assist HomeGain with month end close and various reporting and analysis. The position will involve a working knowledge of accounting, GAAP principles, and strong knowledge of excel. The G/L Accountant will report to the Director of Finance.

Job Responsibilities

• Month End Close Responsibilities (Accruals, Prepaid, Payroll entries, Amortization)
• Month End and Quarterly Account Reconciliations
• Bank Reconciliations
• Sales Commission calculation and reporting
• Review and research all new sales orders
• Bad Debt reserve calculation and analysis
• Manage Fixed Assets- including depreciation, reporting, inventory tracking.
• Headcount tracking, monthly salary forecasting, and detailed bonus tracking.
• Maintain tax compliance in all registered states of business including annual reports, franchise tax reporting, and unclaimed property,
• Manage corporate credit card charges and reconciliations.
• Ad Hoc reporting and analysis

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 3 years experience with G/L Accountant responsibilities
• Must possess excellent communications skills
• Experience with Peoplesoft and Salesforce desired, not required
• Strong knowledge of Excel and GAAP
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a group
• Must have excellent organizational and writing skills
• Able to work well with internal and external customers
