Location: Jackson, MS

 



Candidate will provide technical GIS support in the areas of Emergency Response, Disaster Preparedness, Intelligence, Environmental Management, Risk Assessment, and Environmental Compliance.

Must be proficient in the ESRI-based software, geoprocessing tools, and ArcGIS Extensions such as Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, 3D Analyst, and Network Analyst. 

Responsibilities include spatial modeling and visualization; designing and developing GIS databases; managing geodatabases, collecting, creating, geoprocessing, ingesting, and editing spatial/tabular GIS data.Candidate must have experience with performing advanced data analysis.

Successful applicant must have demonstrable skills in ESRI, Google, and open source software providers. Specific relational database development (such as Microsoft Access, MSSQL)  and/or online map development experience (Google Maps API) is a plus. Knowledge of Visual Basic/VBA and/or experience developing ArcObjects-based applications is highly desirable.



Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of GIS Experience (ESRI ArcSDE, ArcGIS ArcInfo, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS) (Required)US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. (Required)Strong working knowledge of web and map development languages (MSSQL, ArcObjects, Visual Basic) (Required)

 

Qualifications:Proficiency with ESRI software for data creation, management, editing, geoprocessingFamiliarity with programming logic, database management, geodatabase administration Thorough understanding of a variety of spatial data types including vestor, raster, CAD, TIN Thorough understanding of coordinate systems/projections, cartographic design skills, GIS database development and spatial analysis Experience with RDBMS (MSSAL, Access)

 

Highly Desirable:Ability to write custom applications using Visual Basic, Java, C++, or relatedExperience with Google Earth API, KMLExperience with AutoCAD
