We are looking for an experienced Senior GIS Consultant for long-term project work in the Grand Rapids, MI area. No relocation assistance is available for this posirion.

The Senior GIS Consultant will be responsible for managing the planning, design, implementation and support of GIS-based applications, practices, and organizational solutions for our client. The individual hired will lead technical consultations with end users on GIS projects. The position will also provide leadership for staff in development, design and implementation of spatial databases and GIS Web-based applications, and spatial database administration.  Will also lead application requirements, and development initiatives.

Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills in listening, facilitating, generating reports, and leading teams.

Experience with Enterprise GIS program management, including user needs analysis; application, data and system requirements; system and database design; spatial data analysis and reporting; spatial database management; data conversion management; system deployment and operation; work practice improvement; and organizational development is required. 

Education: BS - Geography or Computer Science

Experience: 4 – 6 years in relevant GIS and Project Management Related Activities
