GUI Team Lead - Java - Swing

To support this ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced, technical leader who is skilled at balancing their time between mentoring and developing staff, and contributing to hands-on efforts. In this position, you will take a lead role in the ongoing design and implementation of GUI’s for both our existing Math Toolbox and future applications. This position is on the Math Toolbox Team, which develops MATLAB-based statistics and optimization functionality for scientific and engineering applications.  Responsibilities: Lead the development of new GUI features in the Math Toolbox area Develop requirements through customer interviews and usability tests Develop GUI designs through prototypes and collaborative design reviews Develop appropriate architecture and implement the designs Work with Quality and Documentation groups to assure designs are well tested and easily understood by users Estimate and plan work to fit in each release showing mature project management skills Qualifications: A BS, or MS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 5-7 years of commercial software development experience 3-5 years programming experience in Java, specifically Swing 3-5 years object-oriented application development experience Statistics, Optimization, Engineering or other related computational math experience Proven ability to mentor other developers and lead teams Demonstrated ability to ship products to customers Proven skills in architecture and design Strong communications skills MATLAB experience a plus Company: The MathWorks, Inc.Reference Code: 6181 ©2006 The MathWorks, Inc.
