Graphic Design Artist

Position Purpose:

To create digital graphics for web & print, including usability designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create web page designs and graphics, working along side all departments of the organization.
• Create offline marketing materials including magazine ads, brochures and sales sheets.
• Create digital graphics, animations, icons and illustrations to be used online, in print,  promotional/marketing and sales campaigns.
• Review and evaluate existing and new wireframes, user-interface components and comp designs.
• Work with the development team to identify, clarify and structure user needs and requirements.
• Design and prototype user interfaces using Visio, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Communicate designs to the development team through diagrams, drawings and interactive prototypes.
• Implement web interfaces against cross-browser/cross-platform requirements using HTML and strong CSS.
• Assist in the design and implementation of strong branding initiatives through creative design and teamwork.
• Coordinate with our Marketing department to design and launch campaigns in both print, broadcast, online and other new media outlets.


Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design or equivalent field of study.
• At least 3 years of industry experience designing websites/GUIs, preferably for commercial web software applications.
• Excellent graphic design ability.
• Demonstrable experience with appropriate design tools including Adobe Photoshop,  Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Flash, Microsoft Visio, and others.
• Adept in web-usability and web interface design expertise.
• HTML & CSS.
• Experience with usability and user-centered design techniques, demonstrating knowledge of task analysis, wireframing, and documenting workflow.
• Experience with internationalization and localization design considerations.
• Understanding of design standards and benchmarking.
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills working within cross-functional teams.
• Time management.
• Knowledge of best practices for designing and interface usability.
• Adobe Flash experience not required, but highly recommended.
• A strong portfolio of design samples is required.
