The Hosting Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying and administering leading edge technology to support Emptoris’ enterprise applications within Emptoris’ hosting facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Application Management team as well as with other groups in the company such as Data Center Services, Customer Support, and Engineering.

 

Responsibilities

·  Deploy new systems in Emptoris’ hosting facilities (Windows, Solaris, and Linux)

·  Manage, monitor and maintain hosting environment infrastructure

·  Manage and monitor core application hosting components including web farm (IIS and Apache), database servers, virtual and physical servers.

·  Document installation and data center process and procedures

·  Monitor system and application availability

·  Evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies to improve the hosting environment

·  Maintain a secure and highly available hosting environment

 

Requirements4+ years of supporting mission critical applications on Windows or Linux.Experience troubleshooting Windows and Linux systemsExperience operating enterprise application hosting environmentsExperience with web based applications like IIS, Apache, Weblogic,Websphere, or JBoss/TomcatExperience with Oracle database serversExperience with Cisco networking devicesExperience with application monitoring software (Foglight experience a plus)Exposure to networking and scripting is a plusExcellent organizational, time-management, and follow through skillsAbility to work after hours or on weekends as needed.Participate in rotating on-call scheduleBS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent
