IT Contracts Manager - Rockville

 The Mergis Group, a division of Spherion is in search of a Contracts Manager experienced with IT contracts such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating software licensing agreements and / or related information technology contracts.  This position has great perm potential.  Contract starts immediately and we are looking for a candidate who is open to direct hire in the months ahead. The client loves the legal background, this is just not a position to practice law but does a great career with a growing department. .  DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT RESIDE HERE this position starts contract to direct hire!  The Mergis Group represents a reputable corporation with their need for a IT Contracts Manager experience with drafting, reviewing and negotiation software licensing agreements, IT contracts, RFP and handle negotiations without a lawyer present.    ·  A BA/BS is a must and a MBA/JD is preferred.  This position is responsible for vendor selection and contract negotiation for technology purchases. Will need experience with the preparation of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), analyze the responses, coordinate the contractual negotiations and assist in resolving any subsequent contractual issues.   This position works in conjunction with multiple project teams and the company’s legal department to negotiate contracts and draft language to capture legal, business and technical requirements.   Must be proficent in: Access, Word and Excel.    Duties include:    Negotiate contracts for the procurement of technology, including telecommunications, hardware, software, and services. Act as liaison between project managers, the Law Department, vendors, business sponsor and other various internal departments to gain approval of contractual language, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Serve as a point of contact or liaison between company and vendors on contractual questions. Develop RFPs and assist in the vendor selection process. Take a leadership role in issue resolution and proactively engage and coordinate with appropriate departments as needed to mediate disputes. Lead contract negotiations with vendors and vendors' counsel. Communicate expectations and standards with key stakeholders and vendors. Make recommendations to IR project managers and key stakeholders on trends in the industry, best practices in technology procurement, and negotiating strategies. Maintain contracts database.   Looking for:   5+ years relevant experience in contract negotiation and administration required. Experience in interpreting complex contract provisions, evaluating enterprise risks, and handling complex financial/accounting issues. Strong communication skills.
