IT DBA/Automation

This is a great opportunity to become part of a dynamic and fun IT team in an investment management organization.  Your primary role is to:

·         Manage all SQL databases.

·         Automate IT tasks including software deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance.

·         Help users automate data processing tasks with Excel, Sharepoint 2007, SQL, and varied financial systems.

·         Help with general IT tasks, including occasional helpdesk, and participate in team decisions.

The role requires exceptional customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people possessing various technical capabilities and communication styles.

The ideal candidate will be self starter, show initiative, and have the ability to learn quickly.  Candidate will be meticulous about documenting installations, configurations, and code.  Additionally, candidate will excel at automating general IT tasks and user processes and desire to broaden their skills to encompass all areas of IT and the financial industry.Experience and Qualifications

·         A 4-year degree in technical or business discipline with 6+ years related experience.  Investment/finance industry preferred.

·         Must have excellent oral and written communication and listening skills.

·         Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task on multiple projects.

·         Required experience planning, installing, and managing:

o        Microsoft SQL Server

o        Microsoft Windows

o        Microsoft Office with particular skills in Excel VBA.

·         Required Experience with various scripting languages and methodologies including:

o        Microsoft Visual Basic

o        Windows scripting host

o        Familiarity with Microsoft Powershell

·         Preferred experience with:

o        Microsoft Great Plains

o        Microsoft Systems Center management suite

o        Basic networking troubleshooting and repair

·         Able to lift 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule including occasional weekends and on-call rotation.
