IT Systems/Database Analyst

Campanella, Inc. is a small information technology consulting firm in its 14th year of helping companies make effective use of technology. We are a Microsoft Certified Partner with 6 employees, and we focus on working with smaller firms in the DFW area, typically having 10-100 employees.


We are seeking a disciplined, talented individual for database/system analysis and development. The focus of this position will heavily utilize analytical, technical writing and communication skills. Some light programming will also be needed from time to time. From there, depending on talent, discipline and initiative, we can offer career growth opportunities in just about any direction imaginable.



This position is best filled by someone who can work through details yet also keep track of the big picture, communicate well with coworkers and customers, and see that everything is taken care of so that our customers get what they need the first time.


Early on job tasks include:Database analysis and support: calculation data flow, report building, table design, documentation, etc. Systems analysis: user interface design, troubleshooting, designing interfaces with other systems, process documentation Report design and troubleshooting Build and implement testing plans Support functions to learn how our systems are built and help our current programmers and analysts do their job more efficiently Small changes to existing programming

 

Depending on capabilities and speed of learning the position will evolve to include:Complex query and data flow implementation Direct contact with customers, collecting requirements and analyzing problems Project management Resource management (programmers, etc.) Light programming in a variety of languages Business Process Consulting Systems maintenance work

Required Work and Educational Experience:Experience with Microsoft Access and intermediate to advanced skills in Excel Experience with SQL, ideally Microsoft Transact-SQL Experience with a report building tool such as Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports and/or SQL Server Reporting Services Relational database concepts and design experience

 

An ideal candidate would have capabilities and training that includeAdvanced Microsoft Access Advanced Microsoft Transact-SQL Microsoft SQL Server System administration Working with software requirements and design documents Technical writing experience Software design experience Programming experience in any of ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, ASP, VB 6.0
