Position Description:
Vitech’s application uses state-of-the-art open source technologies such as Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, Tapestry, Jasper, iText, Subversion and Ajax libraries. This project will provide you with the opportunity to work on a very large scale project with a big team and a powerful product development model.

As a member of the Enterprise Infrastructure team, the incumbent will provide Oracle Application Server support for hosted J2EE application environments and Portals. The resource is responsible for installation and sustainment of Oracle Application Server infrastructure components. Server Administration tasks include installing and maintaining OracleAS middle-tier and infrastructure, managing OracleAS using Application Server management tools, log management, OracleAS port management, OID, SSO, OHS, Web cache and OC4J... A thorough understanding of the architecture and components of Oracle Application Server and the OracleAS Infrastructure and deployment aptitude for web sites and applications using Oracle Application Server is required. Previous experience with OID and SSO is preferred. A solid knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL and PL/SQL, and Oracle Enterprise Manager is required. A sound knowledge of Web Application architecture, HTTP/S, proxies, Unix, Java, Windows, Networking, Firewalls, LDAP, DNS, Load Balancers and related technologies supporting Web architectures is required. Knowledge in Microsoft IIS, AD, Windows Server as well as other popular J2EE platforms would be an asset.

Accountabilities:
•This role is responsible for Installations, upgrades and decommissions of Oracle Application Server products and related client software configurations.
•Supports Development, QA and Production systems for Application Servers / Portals / J2EE environments
•Monitors key performance indicators and manages optimal system performance.
•Maintains system backup and recovery mechanisms and confirms archive and Disaster Recover data stores.
•Provides recovery services and problem resolution including initiating contact with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
