Job Description 

The ideal candidate will work in the AMP Engineering Department and report to the Engineer Manager. Their duties will be performing modular, cross-platform install design, implementation, bug verification, and release testing which may require research and analysis for a number of products.

40% of the candidates time will be:

Performing complex product design, system analysis, and programming activities. Performing design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems. Participating in product design meetings.

30% of the candidates time will be:

Performing complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researching problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems. Conducting unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.

20% of the candidates time will be:

In absence of product architects, may serve as a product architect: Design and implement in order to meet project objectives. Document development work.

10% of the candiates time will be:

Researching and understanding the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.  Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

 

 ***Job Requirements***

 

1. Education - Posses a Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science or four to six years of technical experience in software design and product support.

2. Two to four years of install experience, preferably using InstallAnywhere.

3. Experience in creating modular installs in multiple languages.

4. Experience in creating installs for at least 2 of the following.

a. Windows 2003

b.  Red Hat 5.0

c. SLES 10

d.  Solaris 10

5. Technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.

6. Excellent skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.

7. Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.

8. Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.

9. Additional development experience in Java or C++ desired.
